Emmanuel House

Emmanuel House, which is a purpose built residential home for some of the more seriously disabled from the Siret Institution, is built on the Blijdorp O Noua Viata complex in the town of Suceava. This is about 60km from the town of Siret.

It was felt necessary to build this home in Suceava because it is near to all the hospital facilities

The Blijdorp Centre compliments Emmanuel House by offering Day Centre placements for those under the age of eighteen and provides educational and vocational support for those over the age of eighteen.

The young people living in Emmanuel House are allowed to stay until they reach the age of eighteen when they will then have to transfer to an adult residential facility, but no purpose built facility of this quality exists!
Their fate on reaching adulthood may well be returning to the old state run institutions that continue to exist in the different regions of Romania.
